Bombardier wins for automated coupler cover

Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation was honored at this year’s Society of Automated Engineers – Australasia (SAE-A) Mobility Engineering Excellence Awards held in on November 17. The SAE-A Mobility Engineering Excellence Awards is a premier event for the industry, recognizing outstanding contributions to advancing technologies and innovation in the transport mobility field. Bombardier won in the Professional Awards category for its innovative Automated Coupler Cover developed for the Queensland Government’s New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) fleet.

 

Bombardier’s Automated Coupler Cover will provide protection to coupling connections on the new Queensland NGR trains, lowering the incidence of accidental damage during service. The Automated Coupler Cover mechanism has been designed, developed, tested and manufactured by Bombardier as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and product safety.
